Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Institute of Management & Research (BVIMR), organised under the guidance & initiative of the Hon'ble Director, Prof. Dr. Yamini Agarwal, the “Author's Talk” by Author Mr. Sandip Nath on his recently released book: "The Emptiness of Success" on August 23rd, 2024. With the vision & insistence of Prof. Dr. Yamini Agarwal, this novel "Authors Talk" activity being conducted which aims to motivate students to cultivate a lifetime love of reading, extend their perspective on life, & get inspiration from creative intellectuals.
The session planned to provide insights into Mr. Sandeep Nath’s book, “The Emptiness of Success” &. explore the philosophical & practical aspects of success, emphasizing the importance of understanding the true purpose of life beyond materialistic achievements. The event sought to engage participants in a discussion about the mind, body, and spirit, and to encourage introspection about personal definitions of success. The session began with an overview of the book's concept which challenges conventional views of success. Mr. Sandip Nath discussed 03 levels or types of minds e.g. the purpose of life, the common pursuit of success and spiritual achievement. This exploration was helped in deepening the students understanding of how these elements interconnect to enhance engagement, promoting the mindfulness & self-awareness. The author emphasized the connection between the body, mind, and spirit, as well as the roles of the brain, heart, and gut feeling in achieving a balanced & meaningful life. The event concluded with a question-&-answer round, allowing attendees to engage directly with the author. The brief interactive meditation sessions offered practical insights into the importance of mindfulness to all attendees. The author’s talk was a thought-provoking event. By integrating philosophical insights with practical exercises, the session provided a holistic understanding of how to achieve a truly fulfilling, fruitful life in a true sense. The talk was overall memorable & impactful experience for all participants.
