The institute’s NSS Unit conducted a camp at Andhali Village, Palus Taluka, Sangli District from 25th January to 31st Janaury 2025. Institute’s 50 students took part in the camp. On the first 2 days of the camp, students took part in cleanliness drive at various places like river side, and village crematorium. They collected plastic waste and made people aware about pollution due to plastic.
On 28th Janaury 2025, students cleaned Andhali high school and surrounding area and carried out awareness drive for fitness and hygiene. Girls carried out registration of the ABHA CARD of villagers. On 29th January 2025, a survey of heritage trees and testing of water supply (TDS) was conducted by the students. Girl students distributed sanitary pads to sugar cane cutting women wokers. They also distrbuted dustbins to shopkeepers and urged them to regulary use the dustbin so that the area is not littered.
On 30th February 2025, students visited vermicompost factory “Ujjwal Pragati” where they were given information about importance of organic farming. Later they colored trees and also cleaned and colored the Gram Panchayat area.
On the last day of the camp, students perfomed street plays based on themes of infections, women empowerment and saving water. They carried out rally on “Mazi Vasundhara Abhiyan”.
A send off function was held where Sarpanch Mr. Amit Chavan, Deputy Sarpanch Mr. Akshay Pawar, Head Master of Andhali School Mr. Himmatrao Gorad and Gram Sevak Mrs. Pawar were present. Prof. Sarjerao Kharat gave a speech on “Skill Development and Career”. Every morning students went for morning walk and yoga. Sessions of Zumba were also organized for students in the evening.
