Objective of the Program |
- To provide physiotherapy professionals and students with an understanding of the latest methods for the assessment and management of cerebral palsy.
- To bring together multidisciplinary expertise perspectives to enhance the understanding and application of advanced assessment and management strategies.

Activities/Program Details |
Aim: To enhance clinical knowledge and skills in managing paediatric cerebral palsy, while fostering multidisciplinary collaboration and raising awareness of the unique needs of children with CP.
Event: The event commenced with a welcome address and an inaugural session attended by distinguished dignitaries, Dr. Ashok Kumar Verma - Chief Guest, Dr. Sandeep Patwardhan – Guest Speaker, Dr. Swati Bhise – Principal, BVDUSOPT and participants. 47 participants from various colleges within and outskirts of Pune, Clinicians, and Academicians had registered for the CME. The CME featured multiple expert-led sessions on the following topics:
- CP made easy by Dr. Sandeep Patwardhan, leading Paediatric Orthopaedic.
- Optimising trunk Function: tool-based assessment and management in Cerebral Palsy by Dr. Madhavi Kelapure, leading Paediatric Physiotherapist
- Posture and Movement Dynamics in Cerebral Palsy: Understanding the Challenges by Dr. Madhura Sovani, Paediatric Physiotherapist
- Gait Assessment and management in Cerebral palsy along with orthosis prescription by Dr. Saloni Raje, Paediatric Physiotherapist
- A comprehensive guide to lower extremity and foot assessment in Cerebral Palsy by Dr. Chetana Kunde, Paediatric Physiotherapist
- Clinical Scenario Discussion by Dr. Dhanashree Tanksale and Dr. Amruta Misal.
Feedback: The feedback from participants for the CME was overwhelmingly positive, with the majority rating the topics as "Excellent." Many appreciated the comprehensive coverage, particularly on gait assessment, trunk function, and clinical scenario discussions. Participants suggested including more detailed sessions on orthotic prescriptions, practical assessments, and early interventions. Overall, the CME was seen as highly informative and beneficial, with requests for further clinical case presentations and more pediatric-focused topics in future events.
Conclusion: The CME concluded with a vote of thanks to the esteemed speakers and participants. The attendees were encouraged to continue networking and to participate in future events.
