Vision of the Department

To develop students through teaching, research and training in geography locally, regionally and internationally.

To make the students aware of the need of protection and conservation of the environment

To contribute the development of public policy and influences society's view of itself and the world.

To make the students of Commerce aware about the relationship between the geographical factors and economic activities.

The department ambitions to provide training to undergraduate students in the analytical, technical and communication skills required to actively and successfully participate in the rapidly changing environment and to understand the importance of understanding global issues, cultures and socio-political systems. In the context of global interdependence and cooperation.
One of the mission of the department is to build capacity in the education sector to meet the immediate needs of contemporary and future communities, and in particular to contribute to the growing problem-solving needs of the private and public sectors.
Leading the development of educational, pedagogical and research guidelines for human and natural systems, urban and rural issues, and geographic information sciences, using an integrated approach to geography to answer fundamental questions of global importance.
