Vision, Mission & Objective

Vision:-

The Department of English Studies and Research aspires to strengthen the liberal education of students by developing a deepened understanding of language and literature, the value of critical reading and effective writing, and the richness of literature, past and present.

Mission :

1. To provide appropriate pedagogies and environments for better teaching-learning environment.

2. To help students see themselves as professionals with skills and abilities valuable in the teaching, publishing and any other professional or personal life.

3. To give students a sense of themselves as citizens of a larger community by encouraging participation in service learning and in diverse and international context.

4. To assure that students encounter creativity crucial to English studies through theater productions, readings by professional writers, and their own creative and critical production and presentation.

5. To balance the needs of general education - communication, diversity, global perspectives, interdisciplinary studies.

6. To acquire adequate funding to support the department's contributions to general education and the liberal arts.

Objectives:

  • To prepare students for understanding of the principles and institutions of English Language and Literature;
  • To make the students to use an improved ability to think analytically about English studies and to apply this knowledge in their professional and national settings;
  • To encourage the students to use an improved ability to conduct research on English Language and Literature;
  • To create an institutionalize framework for cross-national professional collaboration and the exchange of information;
  • To enhance their ability to communicate their conclusions clearly;
  • To make them capable to demonstrate self-direction and originality in tackling and solving problems, and in collecting and commenting on complex information;
  • To indicate ways of extending practices in English studies and apply English studies theories to quickly evolving situations
