World Mental Health Day
We the department of Mental Health (Psychiatric) Nursing of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), College of Nursing, Sangli observed World Mental Health Day on 10th Oct 2023 as health promotion activity.
The college of nursing arranged the program on the occasion of world mental health day with the theme “MENTAL HEALTH IS A UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHT” by adopting the guidelines of world federation for mental health (WFMH) AND World health organization(WHO). The occasion was celebrated with all support from Dr. H M Kadam, The Hon. Regional Director, Bharati Vidyapeeth Regional office Sangli, Dean/ Principal Dr. Mrs. Nilima Bhore Madam, Dr. Pravin B Dani, Vice-Principal, HOD of Mental Health Nursing Department Dr. Bahubali J G Sir, and all the teaching faculty of the department and non-teaching faculties of College of Nursing, the authorities of Bharati Hospital, Sangli and the authorities of Urban Health Centre UPH, Sangalwadi.
We were privileged to have with us various higher authorities of Bharati Hospital, Medical College, Nursing College as well as the hospital staff. The formal inauguration of program was carried out at 10:30 am at Bharati Hospital OPD Wing by the Dignitaries and Invitees Namely Dr. Ajit Joshi, Medical Superintendent Bharati Vidyapeeth, Dr. Shilpa Gaikwad , Deputy Medical Superintendent, Dr. Sudhir Gaikwad HOD Psychiatry Department Bharati Hospital, Dr. Nitin Patil Consultant Bharati Hospital Sangli, Dr. Sarswati Herwade, Nursing Superintendent, Bharati Hospital, Sangli.
Inauguration was done by Dr. Ajit Joshi. Medical Superintendent, Bharati Hospital by ribbon cutting.
After inauguration there was Health Education organized at the OPD lounge of Bharati Hospital , Sangli by T.Y BSc Nursing, F.Y. and S.Y MSc nursing students, the posters displayed the information about mental health and its well-being. The information was displayed and available to all the people visiting the OPDs of Bharati Hospital, we gathered all patients and their relatives attending the OPD to get benefitted and gain awareness about mental health.
A brief felicitation program was done for the dignitaries after inauguration of poster exhibition. Dr. Madhura Ghate, Senior Resident, Department Of Psychiatry, Bharati Hospital provided essential information about mental health and mental illness contributing to the theme as well.
