Theme 'Step Up for Breastfeeding: Educate and Support'.
On The Occasion Of World Breast Feeding Week 2022, The Department Of Child Health Nursing and Obstetric Gynocological Nursing department Of Bharati Vidyapeeth [DeemedTo Be University] College Of Nursing Sangli. Organized Awareness Programs Under The Guidence and Support Of Dr Nilima RBhore, Dean Principal.The Students And Teaching Faculty actively Participated In Creating The Awarness Regarding Breast Feeding With The Theme “ Step Up For Breastfeeding: Educate And Support”. The Programwas Inaugurated By DrH.M. Kadam Regional Director Bharati hopsital ,sangli, Dr Shahaji Deshmukh Dean BVDU Medical College,Sangli.Hon’ble Dr Sara Dhanawade Dean Of BVDU medical college and Hospital ,Sangli. Dr.Mr Joshi sir Medical Supritendent Of BVDU Hospital, Sangli Dr Shilpa Gaikwad Deputy M. S Department BVDU Hospital, Sangli. Dr Vidya Jadhav, HOD OBG And GYN Department BVDU Hospital, Sangli. Dr Suhas KumbharHOD Pediatric Department BVDU Hospital, Sangli. Dr Sneha Katekar Principal Physiotherapy, Dr Mrs Suryawanshi Nursing Supritendent BVDU Hospital, Sangli.
Awarness Programe Such As Health Exhibition, Health Education, were Executed By Student Of 3rd And 4th Year Bsc Nursing And 1st Year Msc Nursing Students. Role Play was done on Theme by the 4th yr students, The Programe Was Arranged In Premises Of Bharati Hospital. The Programe Was Successfully Accomplished By Motivating Words Of Dignitaries And The Audience.

2nd August
Breast feeding week was celebrated by BVDU college of nursing from 1st to 5th august 2022 in collaboration with OBGyc department of Bharati hospital Sangli.4th year BSc nursing students were arranged a poster exhibition in OBG ward and also performed a role play based on the theme of breast-feeding week 2022, Mrs. Nilima. R. Bhore, dean. Principal bvdu con Sangli, Dr.vidya Jadhav HOD department of obstetric and gyc, Dr.Navale,Dr.Bhatt madam and all nursing college faculty of OBGyc,pead,and community Department and all ward staffs and students were present for the occasion.
3rd August
Breast feeding week was celebrated by BVDU college of nursing from 1st to 5th august 2022 in collaboration with OBGyc department of Bharati hospital Sangli.Dr. VandanaNavale (DGO) Senior resident BVDU medical hospital Sangli, imparted knowledge on the theme of breast feeding 2022. Many were benefitted from the session
4th of August
During breastfeeding week on 4th Aug 2022 students of 4th yr arranged poster exhibition on breastfeeding. Digital posters were displayed at Sangliwadi urban health centre. Also Dr. Navale madam Gave a speech to nursing mothers on breastfeeding and advantages of breastfeeding and regarding exclusive breastfeeding Also 4th yr students performed skit at Sangliwadi urban health center on breastfeeding.
5th of August
On 5th of August 2022 symposium was arranged on the occasion of Breastfeeding week 2022. Symposium was on theme "Support breastfeeding : Educate and support" which was arranged by Msc (N) college of nursing sangli in collaboration with PG students of OBGY dept , Bharati hospital,sangli.
The symposium consisted chairperson Mrs. Priyanka Fernandes and 9 speakers . There was a detailed discussion about the various aspects of the theme given by World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA). The beneficiaries of the programme were 180 basic bsc nursing students.
The program ended by felicitation of all the dignitaries and speakers of the programme who contributed to the success of the programme.
Conclusion
Breastfeeding Promotion for action to generate awareness among people about the protective role of breastfeeding. Keeping this in mind and to raise awareness regarding the importance of breastfeeding, Mothers should be continually empowered and an enriched environment should be provided for the success of the breastfeeding, which would help to achieve the targets of the health indicators so various activities were planned and conducted for the nurses ,students , faculty members and patients in hospital as well peoples from the community area (general public). The breast feeding week 2022 was celebrated by BVDUCON,Sangli The Department of Child Health Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecological (OBG) Nursing and Community Health Nursing celebrated and conducted various activities in coordination with the Gynacology and pediatric department of bharati hospital,sangli.
