Programme Overview

The Curriculum designed is in line with the National Education Policy 2020 guidelines and aims to provide a framework for understanding the hospitality industry. The framed syllabus and the course policy are learner-centric with varying levels of skills in each academic year. The Program structure and courses are multi-disciplinary in nature and offer diverse choices of subjects in tune with the changing trends in the hospitality and tourism industry under the Choice Based Credit System. The Indian hospitality industry has emerged as one of the key drivers of growth among the Services sector in India. Considering this growth in the coming years, the industry needs professionals with in-depth knowledge and skills. The curriculum is designed to create market-ready professionals with updated operational and managerial capabilities. As envisioned in the National Education Policy 2020, the syllabus offers holistic education and all- round development of students. This programme will provide a detailed understanding of Hotel operations and management involving different aspects like Culinary, Food and Beverage Service, Housekeeping and Front Office. The highlight of the programme is the inclusion and focus on Tourism and Allied hospitality sectors.

The syllabus is designed to equip the students with the essential knowledge, skills and attitudinal orientation vital for successful careers in the hotel & tourism industry. In addition to courses focused on hotel & tourism, other relevant courses such as Universal Human Values, Environmental Studies, Computers Applications, Revenue Management, Cyber Security, Digital Marketing, Yoga, Event Management, Entrepreneurship Development, Hotel Accountancy have also been incorporated. Students are also encouraged to undertake MOOCs during the period of study. The curriculum provides students with an opportunity to select an area of specialization amongst the Discipline Specific Electives.
