World Cancer Day held every 4 February is the global uniting initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). By raising worldwide awareness, improving education and catalyzing personal, collective and government action, we are all working together to reimagine a world where millions of preventable cancer deaths are saved and access to life-saving cancer treatment and care is equitable for all - no matter who you are or where you live.

Theme- World Stroke Day - theme 2023

Under World Cancer Day Theme, let us tell you that the multi-year theme for this World Cancer Day 2022 and 2024 is “Close the Care Gap”. The main objective of the Jesus theme is to focus more attention on risk engagement and opportunities on a global scale.

So this year's World Cancer Day's theme, “Close the Care Gap”, is all about celebrating progress in its many forms that enable more people to seek and receive the care they need and deserve. It is about providing the momentum to fuel our fight for fairness. We will build build stronger alliances and innovative new collaborations; we will mobilize friends, family, coworkers and communities because we know that united.

The world cancer day was celebrated on 4th FEB 2023At SIDDHIVINAYK CANCER HOSPITAL MIRAJ under BHARATI VIDYAPEETH DEEMEDTO BEUNIVERSITY, COLLEGE OF NURSINGSANGLIwith the guidance of DeanFaculty of Nursing DR. NilimaBhore,The Principal of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed to Be University, College Of Nursing Sangli. Abrief speech was given by DR.Pravin Dani sir regarding theme. On account of this Programme various activities like health exhibition,computation and health talk were carried out at Cancer hospital Miraj.By the students and the Faculty. The purpose of these events was to create awareness and important regarding CANCER day .On 4th FEB 2023 the students of 1ST YEAR MSC AND 3RD YEARB.sc Nursing participated in the exhibition and health talk regardingimportance of CANCER day at Cancer hospital Mirajand created awareness regarding Cancer and how to identify the cancer and necessary care.

The studentswere guided by Mr. RokeshThorat sir.

• And our B.V.D.U COLLEGE OF NURSING students won the Runner up prize for the computation

Overall, the Programme was very educative and informative for the public regarding awareness of CANCER.

• For following years lectures can be conducted onCANCERday for community people.
