In a groundbreaking event at Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Institute of Environment Education and Research, the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) in collaboration with the EarthSight Foundation, Deepstambh Charitable Trust under the Indian Society of Geomatics (ISG) and Indian Society of Remote Sensing (ISRS), organized a pivotal Massive Outreach Workshop preceding the Annual Symposium. The one-day workshop, themed "Satellite in Your Hand," convened a diverse assembly of over 200 participants including sarpanch, farmers, government officials, educators, and industry experts from various Maharashtra districts, including the remote Chandrapur. The event showcased technology access, geospatial tools and portals in Hindi and Marathi, enlightening participants about Earth observation's potential in addressing rural and urban challenges.
By bridging technology with communities, it generated partnerships and ideas, amplifying the impact of Geographic Information and space-based technologies for inclusive and sustainable development. This workshop at Bharati Vidyapeeth stands as a transformative step, advocating geospatial thinking and fostering collaborations, marking the onset of technology as a force for equitable progress.
