At BVIEER, research uses an interdisciplinary approach contributing to the generation of new
knowledge.
The research is focused on need based issues with a view to bring about proconservation
action. A major focus is on field ecology, biodiversity conservation, bioacoustics, sustainable
urbanism, application and technology development in geoinformatics, education for sustainable
development, etc. Several of its research projects have resulted in policy changes. The faculty
cooperate and undertake need based research through various national and international
collaborations.
