On August 10, 2024, the Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Environment Education and Research (BVIEER) in collaboration with Nepra Resource Management Private Limited, India’s leading waste management company hosted a pivotal event titled "Closing the Loop for Textile Waste" at the BVIEER Auditorium. The event addressed the multifaceted environmental, socio-economic, and behavioral challenges associated with textile waste, while also underscoring the significant potential for innovation in recycling and repurposing. Participants were urged to engage in critical thinking to develop effective strategies for addressing this pressing issue.

Ms. Sonali from NEPRA presented NEPRA's pioneering approaches to textile waste management, offering a compelling vision that inspired many to take actionable measures within their own communities. The event was marked by its resounding success, leaving attendees with a strengthened resolve to tackle the challenge of textile waste.

Building on the success of the event, BVIEER will establish a dedicated textile waste collection hub, spearheaded by the Prutha Club of BVIEER. This initiative aims to create a sustainable framework for managing textile waste on campus, fostering continued engagement and leadership in environmental stewardship.
