About Department

Bharati hospital and research center, Pune is a known as a center of excellence across India. The department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy in Bharati Hospital, Pune was established in the year 1992.

Headed by renowned dermatologist Professor Dr. Vidyadhar Sardesai the dermatology department has earned itself a reputation as state of the art center for various dermatological problems. The department serves outpatient as well as Inpatient treatments to patients for various dermatological conditions, leprosy and sexually transmitted infections. With changing times the department has also forayed in the arena of dermato-surgery and cosmetology. The institute is also very popular among medical students across India as an excellent academic center.

The department is well equipped to provide range of services as per the norms laid down by various regulatory bodies like NABH, NMC. The departmental infrastructure will soon be further augmented to enhance patient care and management.

Teaching Learning

The department provides training to four Post Graduate students each year. Along with this, academic sessions for the Under Graduate students are also conducted.

The curriculum is well designed in accordance of the principles laid down by NMC. The students are exposed to vast number of patients with various conditions and mentored by experienced faculties so as to facilitate learning process. A holistic approach is followed for the management of all the patients.
