About Department

The department of IH & BT is approved by the National Medical Commission since 2022 to conduct M.D. course in IH & BT with a yearly intake of two candidates. The department also provides training in basic IH & BT to MBBS students, PG residents of Pathology & major clinical specialities and interns.

Basic training in IH & BT is provided to the para-medical staff (DMLT, BSc Laboratory Sciences & Nursing).

The department has FDA approved Blood Centre which is also a SBTC certified Regional Blood Transfusion Centre with an annual collection of more than 7000 units, attached to state of the art multi-speciality tertiary care hospital.

Vision, Mission & Goals

To provide safe blood and blood components to all patients using modern techniques and state-of-the-art equipment.
To provide medical education for the Undergraduate and the Post Graduate students of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune- 43.
To train the DMLT students, the Nursing students, and other students of the University.
To conduct research and publish data in national and international journals.
To regularly conduct voluntary blood donation camps in and around Pune city.
