A multitude of field trips to natural resource areas like national parks and wildlife sanctuaries as well as to problem sites where impacts of poor land use and ecosystem degradation due to factors like pollution can be experienced firsthand, engender green consciousness and the much-needed sensitivity towards the environment.

Through its faculty led and externally funded projects, the Institute provides Master’s students with the opportunity to be part of cutting-edge research projects, opening up opportunities to conduct Masters' theses on new and emerging technologies.

Teaching methodologies emphasize critical thinking and problem solving. Real-life experiences of pertinent environment-related issues through field visits and regular debates on conservation and development paradigms and practices are an integral part of the journey of learning at BVIEER.

The Master’s Programme in Environment Science and Technology offers the opportunity to acquire a Lead Auditor Certification as part of the electives.

The Master’s Programme in Wildlife Conservation Action, conducted in collaboration with the Wildlife Trust of India, New Delhi, a premier organization working at the forefront of conservation, provides students the benefits of faculty who are practitioners in the field. It also opens immense internship and research opportunities on live projects.

BVIEER's Master’s in Geoinformatics programme aims at training and educating the students in the most advanced techniques in this avant-garde field. The curriculum is especially designed through inputs from industrial partners and external experts. Teaching innovative and creative scientific research methods, this programme develops students' problem-solving skills and analytic capabilities.
