Aim of the Project

  • Identify the main threats and obstacles to gender equality within the participating countries.
  • Develop skills and tools for the protection and development of women's rights.
  • Transfer these skills/tools to relevant groups, such as youth workers.
  • Strengthen partnerships between European and non-European organizations
  • Improve the capacity of the partners to protect and develop women's rights.

The SURF project (Step Up for Rights of Females) was initiated to explore options and ideas for advancing women's rights in various regions of the world. The project's outcomes will contribute to achieving the objectives of the "Education & Training 2020" work program, focusing on enhancing entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, mobility, innovation, and creativity.

Current Status of the Project : The project has been successfully completed and submitted to the European Union.

Seminar on "Women Empowerment in India"

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) BV(DU) is pleased to highlight a significant event that took place on September 20, 2019 – a seminar dedicated to "Women Empowerment in India." Hosted at the Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development (IMED), Pune, this seminar aimed to shed light on the current status of women in Indian society and explore measures to enhance their societal position.

The seminar, meticulously organized by Dr. Kirti Mahajan (Director, Office of International Affairs, BV(DU), Pune), was designed with the objective of raising awareness and disseminating knowledge on the critical subject of women's empowerment. The event covered various crucial topics, including:

Conference of the "Step Up for the Rights of Females (SURF)" Project

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) is proud to announce the successful convening of the conference for the "Step Up for the Rights of Females (SURF)" project. This significant event took place from September 28th to 30th, 2019, in Vilnius, Lithuania, Europe.

Representing our university at this international forum were two dedicated students: Ms. Shambhavi Shimal and Ms. Sakina Bharmal from the Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship Development, Pune, along with Ms. Sonal Shivagunde, a student of MSW from the Social Science Centre, Pune.

The conference provided a platform for collaborative discussions and insights into the project's objectives, emphasizing the importance of championing the rights of females on a global scale. This international engagement aligns with BV(DU)'s commitment to fostering a holistic and inclusive educational experience for its students.
