BV(DU) warmly embraces a diverse community of international students through our enriching short-term exchange programs, offering a spectrum of educational experiences, including coursework, workshops, and short-term courses. We are committed to ensuring that incoming students not only fulfil their academic requirements but also make the most of their time at our institution.

Coursework and Workshops

International students participating in our coursework and workshops are cordially invited to join our vibrant academic environment, fostering collaboration and cultural exchange. The following guidelines outline the process:

Fee Waiver

For regular exchange students, the program fee is waived if there is an active student exchange agreement between BV(DU) and the partner university, as stipulated in our Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Enrolment

Students exclusively pursuing coursework will be invited to join us before the semester begins, allowing them to attend courses and achieve their credit goals.

Accommodation

On-campus accommodation is available on minimum cost for students subject to availability.

Rules for Short-Term Incoming Students

We kindly request all students participating in coursework, workshops, or short-term courses to adhere to the following rules and maintain a respectful decorum during their stay at our institute:

Behaviour and Decorum

Students are expected to conduct themselves with decorum, respecting our institution's values and cultural diversity.

Disciplinary Measures

Misbehaviour or rule violations may result in disciplinary actions, including fines, suspension or discontinuation from hostel and dining hall privileges, or suspension/cancellation of their exchange registration as BV(DU) students.

Application and Selection Process

At Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) BV(DU), our Office of International Affairs operates under an open application and selection system. We work in close coordination with our constituent colleges and institutes to facilitate student participation in exchange programs. Here's how the process unfolds

Communication

Relevant details of exchange programs are shared with the respective college or institute based on information received from the host university. These details are then forwarded to eligible students.

Selection Committee

Each college or institute forms a selection committee, led by the college's Principal. This committee typically includes the Principal and two senior faculty members who have experience with scholarship programs. They will interview eligible students and provide recommendations to the University.

Rules for the Outgoing Student Exchange Program

BV(DU) collaborates with various international universities to offer Sponsorship/Scholarship/ Funding Program/Fellowship Disbursement to students studying within our constituent units. To ensure the successful implementation of these scholarships, we have established specific rules for admission, scholarship criteria, admission procedures, and more. Here are the key points:

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be residents of India.
  • Applicants must be students of BV(DU)'s constituent units.
  • Student applicants must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75 or higher in their preceding examination.
  • Eligibility criteria may vary depending on the specific exchange program.

Selection Factors :

Selection of students for exchange programs is based on the following factors:

1. Selection Committee

Each college forms a selection committee, including the Principal and two senior faculty members with scholarship program experience.

2. Interview

The committee interviews eligible students and makes recommendations to the University.

3. Selection Criteria

Students are evaluated based on their overall academic performance, extracurricular activities, communication skills, and preparedness for the scholarship program. These criteria carry different weightages

  • Overall Academic Performance: 40%
  • Preparation for the Scholarship Program: 20%
  • Extracurricular Activities: 20%
  • Communication Skills: 20%
4. Final Selection

After interviewing, each college sends the names of eligible students to a selection committee comprising three members: Executive Director, International Affairs, Research and Training at BV(DU); Director, Office of International Affairs; and the Dean of the concerned faculty.

5. Final Recommendation

The committee's recommendations are final, and selected students become eligible for the scholarship.

6. Sponsorship/Scholarship/ Funding Program/Fellowship Disbursement

Sponsorship/Scholarship/ Funding Program/Fellowship are directly disbursed to the respective colleges/student as per actual expenses.

The selection process is coordinated by colleges based on notifications from the Director, Office of International Affairs. Decisions of the University authorities regarding scholarship awards are binding.

Grievance Redressal

A grievance committee, chaired by the Executive Director, International Affairs, Research and Training, and including the Director, Office of International Affairs, and the Dean of the Concerned Faculty, handles all grievances related to the program.

Mandatory Documents

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

  • College covering letter addressed to the Director, Office of International Affairs, with student/faculty nominations.
  • Student details, including phone number, email address, and passport information.
  • Student Curriculum Vitae.
  • Grade sheets from previous semesters at BV(DU) (for Bachelor's and Master's students).
  • Research proposal (for Ph.D. students).
  • Statement of purpose explaining their interest in the international exchange program.
  • Recommendations from guides, supervisors, or faculty.
  • Copy of passport or other specified identification.
  • Passport-sized photograph.

Post-Selection Information

Before departing for the exchange program, the Office of International Affairs will provide outgoing students with orientation on program rules, regulations, and associated costs. Students must adhere to program duration and rules and should not extend their tickets or visas without formal permission from the Office of International Affairs.

Students are responsible for maintaining 100% attendance, completing required coursework, and ensuring their performance in the host university. Failure to meet these requirements may lead to academic consequences.

Students are not permitted to engage in any formal or consultancy work involving financial transactions during the exchange period or work part-time/full-time in the host country.

Post-Return Regulations

Upon returning from the exchange program, students are responsible for settling any expenses incurred by the Office of International Affairs within 15 days of their arrival. Late payments will incur penalties.

Students must submit detailed exchange reports, boarding passes, and other required documents within 15 days of completing the program.

We encourage selected students to respect cultural differences, follow host country laws, and adhere to academic and disciplinary regulations. Additionally, students may be expected to assist the Office of International Affairs with campus orientation and related activities.

Collaborating with faculty members from various institutes and colleges within BV(DU), these programs are thoughtfully crafted to provide a rich educational experience.

Program Overview

Our Short-Term Customized Programs are meticulously tailored to meet the specific requirements of foreign universities and participants. These programs encompass a wide array of activities, including lecture-based and theme-based classroom sessions, immersive field visits, hands-on field placements, and more. The duration of these programs is highly flexible, typically ranging from 1 to 4 weeks.

We assist incoming students and faculty by providing invitation letters to facilitate visa applications

Depending on availability, on-campus accommodation options are provided to short-term program participants.

Information on Short-Term Customized Programs

Incoming students are invited to attend our Short-Term Customized Programs at BV(DU) based on mutual agreements between BV(DU) and their respective partner universities. For students enrolling in these programs, fees will be determined through mutual consent between both institutions.

Guidelines for International Students Enrolling in Short-Term Customized Programs

International students coming to BV(DU) for Short-Term Customized Programs are required to obtain a 'Student Visa' in accordance with the Government of India's regulations, unless otherwise specified based on program duration. Some groups may require Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) registration, depending on the granted visa and duration of stay in India.

All incoming students must provide a copy of their passport and issued visa, along with any other requested information, to the Office of International Affairs and the concerned institute/college. Participants are responsible for covering the costs associated with on-campus and off-campus facilities and services used during the program, with charges based on actual usage.

To ensure a smooth experience, all arrangements during the program will be based on prior requests and logistical availability. Last-minute requests will not be accommodated. Specific arrangements or requirements should be communicated in advance to the Office of International Affairs (OIA).

Cancellations made at the last minute for on-campus/off-campus facilities will incur charges and must be communicated at least 24 hours in advance. This includes food, transportation, classroom bookings, agency visits, and other logistical arrangements.

Our budget for international programs at BV(DU) is diligently prepared by the Office of International Affairs, with a facilitation charge of 25% applied to cover program expenses.

Finally, as part of their program completion, all students are required to make a final presentation on the last day, reflecting on their learnings and experiences. The Office of International Affairs will provide a Grade/Programme Completion Certificate, as mutually agreed upon with the student's home university.

Below are the details and procedures for our Faculty Exchange Program

Program Overview

The Faculty Exchange Program encompasses various academic activities, including training programs, lectures, workshops, and conferences. The Office of International Affairs at BV(DU) is responsible for managing and facilitating these exchanges.

Initiating an Exchange

All BV(DU) faculty members interested in inviting international faculty or staff for teaching, workshops, seminars, or similar activities that are not part of their own international projects should first contact the Office of International Affairs.

Foreign universities communicate the details of their incoming faculty or staff members to our Office of International Affairs.

Application Process

The Office of International Affairs reviews incoming faculty applications and forwards them to the Principal/Director of the concerned College/Institute.

The Director of the Office of International Affairs, in consultation with the respective Principal/Director, plans both academic and non-academic programs for the incoming faculty.

Academic Program Planning

The respective Principal/Director provides a faculty contact person for the incoming faculty member to collaborate on planning the academic program.

The faculty contact person is responsible for sharing the program schedule and details of planned lectures or sessions at BV(DU).

Logistics and Support

The Office of International Affairs assists with logistical arrangements, including accommodation, airport pick-up and drop-off, and other transportation requirements for visiting faculty members.

Visa letters and invitation letters are also provided by our Office of International Affairs to facilitate the visa application process for visiting faculty.

Financial Responsibilities

All expenses related to travel, food, accommodation, and other personal expenses during the exchange program are generally borne by the visiting faculty member, unless otherwise specified.

BV(DU) faculty members are encouraged to coordinate their programs and invitations to international guests accordingly.

Financial Clearance

International faculty members are required to clear all on-campus bills and expenses before the completion of the exchange program.

Off-campus travel arrangements, including visits to other BV(DU) campuses or personal trips, are the financial responsibility of the visiting international faculty.

Application and Selection Process

We maintain an open application and selection system for our Faculty Exchange Program. Details of available exchange programs are communicated to the concerned college/institute based on notifications from host universities.

The Selection Committee for each college/institute is formed by the respective Principal. This committee typically includes the Principal and two senior faculty members, preferably with prior experience in scholarship programs.

The Selection Committee invites eligible faculty members for interviews and recommends suitable candidates to the University.

Rules and Eligibility

Our university has collaborations with international universities to provide Sponsorship/Scholarship/Funding Program/Fellowship Disbursement for teaching faculty members of BV(DU) constituent units.

Eligibility criteria include :

  • Applicant must be a resident of India.
  • Applicant should be a faculty member of BV(DU) constituent units.
  • Faculty applicants must meet the API score requirements approved by university authorities/UGC.
  • Eligibility may vary depending on the specific exchange program.

Selection Factors

  • Selection criteria for faculty members consider various factors, including API score, teaching experience, research contributions, attendance, involvement in academic and extracurricular activities, and more.
  • Recommendations are made by the Principal in consultation with the Dean of the concerned faculty.
  • Final selection is carried out by the University Selection Committee from among the recommended candidates.

Redressal of Grievance

A grievance redressal committee, chaired by the Executive Director of International Affairs, Research, and Training, along with the Director of Office of International Affairs and Dean of the Concerned Faculty, will address and resolve all grievances related to the program.

Mandatory Documents

  • Faculty details including phone numbers, email addresses, and passport information.
  • Faculty Curriculum Vitae.
  • Statement of purpose explaining the interest in participating in the exchange program and expected benefits.
  • Copy of Passport (or as specified in the notification).
  • API documentation.
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP) and future plan.
  • Passport-sized photographs.

Post Selection Information

  • The Office of International Affairs will assist in visa application and provide insurance coverage for the duration of the stay abroad, including travel arrangements.
  • Selected faculty members must submit a copy of their passport, visa, and other relevant documents.
  • All expenses related to air tickets, visas, and other exchange program costs must be paid in advance or before the program commences.

Post-Return Regulations

  • Faculty members are responsible for reimbursing any advance expenses incurred by the Office of International Affairs within 15 days of their return.
  • A penal interest of 10.7% per day will be charged for late payments beyond 15 days.
  • Faculty members must submit a detailed exchange report, boarding passes, and other required documents within 15 days of their return.
