Overview

The College of Ayurved was established in 1990 by hon’ble founder Dr. Patangrao Kadam in an endeavour to revive the practice of Ayurveda, the most ancient medical science of India.

The college is a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University and is recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine & Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi. It has been re-accredited with an ‘A+’ grade by National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore.

Located in the Dhankawadi Educational complex of BVDU, the College of Ayurveda has a well-designed building and accommodates well-equipped laboratories, a dissection lobby, spacious demonstration halls, museums, classrooms and a well-stocked library containing more than 22,026 volumes on Ayurvedic and allied medicines, a spacious reading hall and internet facility. It also has state-of-the-art equipment in the pharmacy to manufacture a wide array of Ayurvedic medicines.

The college maintains an herbal garden that has more than 298 medicinal plant species, including a few endangered herbal species. The college also owns an Ayurvedic Hospital with 200-bed strength. The hospital’s OPDs & IPDs attract a huge number of patients, facilitating our students to get better clinical exposure.
