Established in 1990 BV(DU) College of Ayurved and Hospital is one of the best private Ayurveda colleges. It is recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi and Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, New Delhi. College is a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) which has been accorded with A grade University status by MHRD, Government of India. A + Grade was accredited (2017 3rd cycle) by NAAC (National Assesment and Accreditation Council), Bengaluru. College has highly qualified faculty and aesthetically designed building accommodating well equipped laboratories, dissection hall, spacious classrooms with ICT aids, Museums, library and reading hall and infrastructure facility.

‘Deemed to be University’ is a status offered by, Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India on recommendation of University Grants Commission (UGC). This University status is given to Higher Education institutes those have proven their academic and professional excellence. The syllabus of BAMS/ MD-MS Ayurveda remains same across India but Deemed to be Universities can easily and frequently make value additions to syllabus. Thus student can get updated, most relevant knowledge of the field to enhance their competency/ employability. The degrees by Deemed to be University are acceptable everywhere and are at par with conventional universities so far as Government jobs or abroad opportunities are concerned.

Ayurveda has remained choice of medicine for life style diseases and Covid times have proved that Ayurveda can be option even in infective, acute and fatal conditions. Ayurveda Physician, Panchakarma Practitioner remains the unique opportunity for a BAMS graduate. Along with this BAMS graduates can practice modern medicine in some states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh etc. There are options of post graduation and one can opt for becoming MD/MS ayurved. According to latest Gazette notification of government of India, post graduate Ayurveda doctors (MS Ayu) are allowed to perform various surgical procedures too. BAMS graduates are eligible to join health services of Union and state Governments. Majority of doctors in Health services in Rural parts of India are BAMS doctors. Ayurveda Pharmacy, Panchakarma Resorts/ medical tourism and R& D centers are newer career options are available for BAMS graduates. Many Countries are eager to allow Ayurveda practitioners to strengthen their Health services.

BAMS is an integrated course where syllabus includes topics from Ayurveda as well as modern biomedical sciences. In states like Maharashtra BAMS graduate is legally allowed to practice modern biomedicine in their general practice. Recently CCIM (Central Council of Indian Medicine) published ‘Indian Medicine Central Council (Post Graduate Ayurveda Education) Amendment Regulations, 2020’ in Gazette of India (on 20 November 2020) and allowed 39 types of general surgeries, 9 types of Eye surgeries, 3 types of nose and ear surgeries and some of dental and oral surgeries to Ayurveda MS degree holders of concerned specialties. Our Bharati Ayurveda Hospital is well equipped with Operation theatres (In departments of Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra, Stree Roga and Prasuti Tantra) with C-Arm OT Tables where modern surgeries are conducted.

At Bharati Ayurveda Hospital there are good number of patients. BAMS students receive their training during Bed side clinics at all clinical department. Interns and PG student’s gets hands on experience of clinical examination, procedures and surgeries under supervision of clinical faculty.
