About Department

The term ‘Nidana’ means diagnosis and it deals with the knowledge of examination of patients, diagnosis of disease & laboratory investigations. While studying this subject, one needs more practical knowledge and their theoretical concepts also have to be strong.

With an aim to develop clinical acumen students are provided with hands-on experience. The faculty at the department also teaches experimental clinical pathology in the laboratory. and the postgraduate students are encouraged to take up research projects which are relevant to prevalent and new diseases.

  • The departmental laboratory is an important asset. Analysis of the antibacterial activity of Ayurvedic herbs (through culture and sensitivity) like Shigru, Apamarga, Palashbeeja, Swarnakshiri are feathers in the cap of our laboratory. 
  • Professional hazards are amongst the top in Departmental thrust areas of research. Department has worked on computer workers, B.P.O. workers, Bus drivers, Traffic police, Heat industry workers in this regard. 
  • Department has extensively worked for interpretations of etiopathogenesis of different ailments through Ayurvedic principles. Hypo and Hyperthyroidism, Hypertension, Varicose veins, heart disease are a few of them. 
  • Department has worked on the standardization of unique Ayurvedic diagnostic methods like Jivha Parikshan, Nakha Parikshan.
